Chicago Chinese Volleyball Conference
The annual grand event, the Chinese Volleyball Tournament will happen next Saturday 8/20/2005 at University of Chicago. This is the wonderful opportunity to play games, get to meet old friends, get to know new friends and most importantly, to improve our health and have volleyball fun. You will also have a chance to visit UC, which is a beautiful campus, I believe in the metropolitan of Chicago. Several skilled University volleyball teams will re-appear there such as: our old opponent UIUC volleyball team, Purdue volleyball teams etc.
If you are interested in playing volleyball for exercise, play games with us or just cheer with us, you are more than welcome to join us. Or your simply visiting of our group blogs will be appreciated. You could find the current news about China National Sports Conference in our news blog of course with volleyball news as main source. You could also see some of the activities our VB members participated in the past in our photo gallaries.

黄榕，再见
在印城华人社区，黄榕不是一个陌生的名字。普度大学临床药理系的教授和研究生们都知道这位勤奋好学、天资聪颖的中国女研究生。IUPUI 中文学校 dance 班的孩子们都喜欢这位亲切、活泼的黄老师。IUPUI 排球队的球员们都熟悉这位活跃在球场上的主力队员(Female Captain)。印城中国文化圈子的人们也都熟识这位在历届 art 表演中的节目主持人，以及她优美的 dancing 和 piano 表演艺术。其实，黄榕还有很多鲜为人知的爱好，如摄影，旅游，读书……。她曾与中央芭蕾舞 http://www.ballet.org.cn/ 和上海芭蕾舞 http://www.shanghaiballet.com/main.htm 团一起表演，还在中央电视台做过节目主持人。黄榕从上海医科大学毕业后，于2000年来到普度大学临床药理系读研究生。五年里，她学有所成，七月间顺利通过论文答辩。除了学业上的成功，黄榕还以她的艺术创作极大地丰富了印城华人的文化生活，改变了很多人单调的生活节奏。两年多来，她一直担任IUPUI中文学校少儿和成人班的 dancing 老师，为大家编排了12个 dances，有少儿 dance，Ballet，汉族和少数民族 dance，带领IUPUI Dancing Group 多次到State Fair、 International Festival 、印地安那大学和普度大学表演。在黄榕获得博士学位、迁居芝加哥之际，我们由衷地为她高兴。
为欢送黄榕，IUPUI中文学校特为她举办“黄榕个人作品表演会”（免费），具体安排如下：
时间：2005年8月14日，下午2-4点
地点：IUPUI音乐厅（IT152，at the corner of Michigan and West Street）
节目：黄榕独舞，黄榕在印地创作的儿童和成人dance
印地艺坛精英表演的独唱，独奏，ballet 和中国民间 dance
